Cherokee Grove Casino Tops Out

On Monday, June 20, 2016, the Cherokee Nation celebrated a construction milestone on its casino in Grove, Okla., with a topping out ceremony. During the event, the final, ceremonial beam, atop the casino structure was put into place, signifying the end of the structural phase of construction.

The ceremony comes just 70 days after RedStone broke ground on the project on April 11, 2016.

RedStone President Chris Samples is quoted in an article on GrandLakeNews.com stating that with the structure in place the building will really begin to take shape.

He said the structure is at least 10 days ahead of schedule. "It's going at a fast, rapid pace. Our goal is to turn it over to the owners by November 1.” Cherokee Nation has plans to open the casino after turnover by the end of 2016.

Samples attributes the productivity of the site to a collaborative effort between all project participants, including the RedStone team, Cherokee Nation Entertainment and the design staff.
